ON REPEAT| Tinuke Awe

Research shows that Black women in the UK are 3.7 times more likely to die in pregnancy and childbirth. This statistic prompted Tinuke Awe to co-found Five X More CIC - to campaign for improved maternal health outcomes for women of colour.

Not one to rest on her laurels she also founded Learning with Ez - specialising in diverse educational resources for children as well as Mums & Tea - a social platform aimed at connecting Black mums together.

Tinuke is well decorated, named ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year’ by Marks and Spencers and The Daily Mail, a ‘Force for Change’ by British Vogue, a ‘Woman changing the World’ by the Evening Standard, and a ‘Future Shaper’ by Marie Claire. She is on a bold mission to revolutionise the health and well-being of pregnant women and expectant families in the Black community. We’re honoured to take a peek into your bathroom cabinet and discover the beauty product she has on repeat.

I always hit the pan with MZ Skin Hydrate and Nourish Cream, £95. I first discovered it in a goody bag a year ago and I’ve been using it ever since. The minute I opened it; it just felt so creamy, rich and luxurious. Immediately, it was ‘get this on my skin right now!

I love this cream because it has key active ingredients like hyaluronic acid, ceramides and retinol, all of which help to strengthen my skin and make it more resilient.

It’s also SPF30, I still haven’t found the perfect sunscreen to use daily so this all in one works for me right now. Even though it has a thicker consistency it’s still lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy on my face.

I have been using Hydrate & Nourish daily. For real, every day for the last year in my morning skincare routine.

<what do we always say? Consistency is the bedrock of a good skincare routine!>

I love using this moisturiser because it sits well underneath my make up, even on no make up days. It makes my skin look glowy and hydrated too!

My favourite way to use it is after I’ve completed all my cleansing, serums and oils. It’s the final step in my morning routine, especially because the added SPF is a bonus.
