ON REPEAT | Kemi Lawson
The skincare product I would walk over hot coal for is La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5.
I’ve been using it for about two years, especially during the harsh winter months when my skin often feels so unhappy.
I love Cicaplast Balm B5 (£10.90) because it’s so thick and nourishing and the skin on my face just drinks it up, especially in the cold winter months. It also feels soothing and gentle - my skin is pretty sensitive, but I have never reacted to this product.
When I use it I feel soothed and comforted, it’s restorative as my skin feels ravaged in the winter with the drying effect of central heating - I am very cold blooded and have it on at full blast throughout the winter! Also my skin looks dull with the lack of sunlight and this perks it up!
I discovered it two years ago on Tik Tok when everyone was raving about it and I have been a loyal devotee ever since. I love that I can pick it up easily in my local pharmacy.
<BSD brownie points - we love an accessible product)
I use it the most when my skin is dry, parched and uncomfortable. It is also useful to soothe my skin if it is a bit sore after my nightly retinol application. I also use it on my children’s skin when their skin is feeling a bit dry and irritated.
<multi-tasking - award 5 points>
My favourite way to use it is to apply a thick layer of the balm on my skin and let it sink in - that is probably how I go through so much of the stuff! Beware it does tend to leave a white cast on my Black skin so it’s better to ‘slug’ in the evening when you have more time to massage it in. If I use during the day I find that the white cast fades over time or can quickly be corrected when I apply my foundation.
