ON REPEAT: Therese M'Boungoubaya

From a young age, Therese M’Boungoubaya watched her mother blend natural African beauty ingredients for at-home treatments and her Pharmacist father help people back to health.

Her life in beauty continued with stints at mega brands like L’Oreal and Clarins over a ten year period. After selling her first business, she noticed a gap in the market for cracked heels and dry feet. A concern that was a personal bother and also one that didn’t get much discussion.

In her own words she ‘dreaded sandal season’ and that birthed her second journey with Koba Skincare. It’s a treat to know her on repeat product!

The product I always savour to the very last drop is the Goodal Green Tangerine Vitamin C Serum (£21.95), a firm favourite amongst K-beauty lovers.

I discovered it on TikTok last year and happened to be looking for a new vitamin C serum, so thought I’d give it a try.

I love this serum because it helps fade any dark spot I may have after a pimple, and makes my skin more even and also brighter. The key ingredients are green tangerine extract, Vitamin C which is a fantastic antioxidant, Niacinamide which helps to strengthen the skin barrier and Arbutin which is also a great addition for helping to fade the excess melanin which creates dark marks.

Its texture is fast absorbing and non-sticky so it’s easy to layer it with the other products which are part of my routine. It’s a bit like a gel-serum so it’s very lightweight.

When I use this product, I feel like I am treating my skin with the care it deserves. It also motivates me to commit to the little extra bits that have an impact on my skin such as drinking more water, sleeping more hours, working out every week and eating more mindfully.

<do not underestimate the power a good serum can have on the rest of your life!>

I use it religiously every day before applying my day moisturiser and sunscreen.
